Maria T. Santi, Esq. – Director of Operations
Maria T. Santi assists patients and consumers with health and medicine related disputes, including elderly who have been subject to abuse or neglect. She represents patients throughout Florida in medical coverage and billing disputes, actions against health insurers, medical facilities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and medical professionals. Additionally, Maria offers legal consulting services to health law advocacy groups and non-profit organizations related to patient rights, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and food safety and regulation to protect patients and consumers.
Morgan Weinstein, Esq. – Vice President
Morgan Weinstein obtained his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Prior to forming Weinstein Law, P.A., Morgan was the managing attorney of the Miami, Florida office of Van Ness Law Firm, PLC. He was head of the appellate department and lead trial attorney. He has been lead appellate counsel in appeals in each of the Florida District Courts of Appeal, as well as the Florida Supreme Court.
Morgan is a member of the pro bono committee of the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar. He has taught undergraduate courses in public speaking and legal communication, has designed continuing legal education courses, and publishes regularly on a range of issues related to the practice of law.
Carisa Champion, D.O., J.D., MPH – President
Dr. Champion is a general surgeon. She graduated from medical school as an osteopathic medical physician and has served at the highest level working as a student delegate on the AOA Board of Trustees and on numerous national task forces. Carisa was the student body president when in medical school and the chair of the council of osteopathic government presidents. She is involved in lobbying for healthcare issues both in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C. With three postgrad degrees to her name, Carisa Champion, DO, JD, MPH, shows no signs of slowing down. Now in her fourth year of a general surgery residency at the University of Florida, Jacksonville, Dr. Champion is passionate about advocacy and devotes significant time to promoting osteopathic medicine and supporting measures to improve public health. Anna Fernandez, Esq. – Director
Anna Fernandez. Ms. Fernandez, a Miami-native, graduated from La Salle High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University in 2007. Ms. Fernandez graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law and is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She owns her own practice Legal Lotus P.A.
At St. Thomas University School of Law, Ms. Fernandez was a member and competitor of the State Championship Trial Team, competed in several local trial competitions and was recognized at the national trial level, competing in the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law’s 2010 Mock Trial Competition. In addition to her successful trial team background, Ms. Fernandez was elected to serve on the Executive Board for the Public Interest Law Students’ Association, where she organized and lead several outreach projects at The Ronald McDonald House, Camillus House, Crandon Park Beach Clean-up and many other locations around South Florida. Ms. Fernandez was also a member of the Cuban American Student Bar Association.
In addition to running a practice, Ms. Fernandez is a member of the City of Miami’s Equal Opportunity Advisory Board (EOAB), which reviews employment policies and practices of the City of Miami, and makes recommendations to the Personnel Department through ordinances, resolutions, and other proposals relating to the City’s affirmative action program.
Ms. Fernandez is also the co-founder of the non-profit organization Business Educational Assistance for Tomorrow, Inc. (BEAT). BEAT’s mission is to assist the adolescence, adult and the elderly to develop their potential by aiding in scholastic training, education and promotion of classes, with emphasis on housing, socioeconomic issues, and personal financial matters.
Ms. Fernandez is an advocate for animal rights and is a current member of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL), the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA), and the Miami-Dade County Bar Association.
Eric Bluestein was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He concentrates his practice in personal injury, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, consumer fraud, premises liability, wrongful death litigation, insurance bad faith and commercial litigation. He has tried numerous cases and obtained verdicts in excess of one million dollars for his clients.
Over the years, Eric has served as co-counsel with a number of excellent trial firms. In this capacity, Eric worked closely with Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum, assisting with pre-trial matters, as well as trying cases. After a long and successful association with the partners of Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum, Eric became a shareholder of the firm on Jan 1, 2020.
Eric has been recognized by Florida Trend’s Magazine as a Florida Legal Elite Up and Comer annually since 2011 and has been honored as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers Magazine consecutively since 2013. He is a Past President of the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and is currently the President-Elect of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association. Eric received his law degree in 2008 from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, where he graduated cum laude. While attending the University of Miami, Eric received the CALI Excellence For The Future Award for having the highest grade in his Fourth Amendment Seminar class, and also the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics Award for finishing at the top of his Law & Medicine class.
He received his undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he majored in English and minored in Business. During his senior year at Muhlenberg, Eric was named to the Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities & Colleges and received The George H. Hambrecht Law School Award, recognizing him as a student who had achieved outstanding grades in pre-law courses.
Ryan N. Chae is a corporate attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and the District of Columbia. He has worked with some of the most well-known, respected, and experienced attorneys and litigators in Florida. This experience provides him with unique insight, qualification, and strategic methods which he employs every day to accomplish the goals of his clients and consistently exceeding their expectations.
